OPERATIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Learn the skills to save a life
Operational Members form the core of the CPSPA and conducted rescues and ski patrol tasks. As an Operational Member it is expected that you will join with an advanced skiing or snowboarding capability, a current first aid and CPR certification, and a NSW Working with Children Check. That way we can get you out and learning the ropes (literally) as soon as possible. New recruits are expected to qualify for their ASPA Advanced Emergency Care course within 12 months of joining our Unit.
SUPPORT MEMBERSHIP
The engine room of the operation
Support Members perform a crucial role in keeping the Charlotte Pass Ski Patrol Association running smoothly. They assist our Patrollers by operating communications equipment, organising unit logistics, and equipment. Support Members also perform critical administrative functions, without which we couldn't carry out the work we do. You don't have to be an expert skier or have advanced first aid skills - just a keen attitude and we can teach you the rest!
ON THE JOB LEARNING
Get fully qualified in 12 months
If you start as a new recruit, you'll spend your first 12 months under the mentorship of a fully qualified Patroller. After this, you'll be asked to complete the Australian Ski Patrol Association Advanced Emergency Care Course to become fully qualified. You'll be given on-the-job training in treating and transporting patients, as well as rope handling techniques and mountain safety equipment.
