WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2019, the Charlotte Pass Volunteer Ski Patrol Association continues a 75 year legacy of providing exceptional first response and rescue services to the skiing public, free of charge. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, brought together by a passion for skiing and helping others.
WHAT WE DO
Our Ski Patrollers keep a watchful eye over Charlotte Pass Snow Resort and the surrounding areas, working as part of an integrated team consisting of paid resort staff and volunteers. Members are highly trained to provide the best rescue and safety services possible, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the mountains as much as we do.
RESCUE SERVICES
Our Patrollers are specially trained to respond to a wide range of medical and non-medical emergencies in alpine environments. This includes training in advanced first response and rescue using specialist equipment and techniques. Members continuously hone their skills, working with other professionals from across the healthcare and rescue sectors.
MOUNTAIN SAFETY
First on, last off.
We head out first thing in the morning to ensure that the mountain is safe. That means setting up crash fencing, checking ropes, and lifting tower pads. Patrollers ride every lift before it opens to check the line and trails for danger. It also means that our Patrollers get first tracks every day!
PUBLIC AWARENESS
Our Patrollers are constantly out and engaging with the public to build awareness of snow safety initiatives. It is our job to ensure that everyone can enjoy the mountains. We do this by upholding the Alpine Responsibility Code and SnowSafe principles which provide advice and rules governing our interactions with others on the slopes.
